Caroline de Gruyter is a highly sought-after lecturer and public speaker on European matters. She is Europe correspondent and columnist for the Dutch newspaper NRC. She has covered European affairs for over 25 years. She contributes columns to Foreign Policy, EUobserver and De Standaard. She is a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations, and of several boards, including Bruegel, the Amsterdam Centre for European Studies, and the Fondation Jean Monnet (Lausanne). She has reported from the Gaza strip, Jerusalem, Brussels, Geneva, Vienna and Oslo. She has written several books including, most recently, a best-selling comparison between the Habsburg Empire and the European Union, which has been translated into several languages.

Caroline is an experienced keynote speaker, discussing Europe’s many transformations in a rapidly changing world. She does it with words that a wider public can understand and relate to. Her clear analyses of political trends in Brussels and Europe’s long-term direction of travel are very much in demand. Among other things, she has spoken at private dinners of CEOs, given master classes at universities and done briefings at ministries and other public institutions.

Caroline de Gruyter can lecture in English, Dutch, and French.
